Jackie Skriver, 65

Jackie A. Skriver, 65, of Coralville, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, after complications from heart surgery.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City with the Rev. Tim Malek officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hll Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service and Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Skriver was born June 19, 1937, in Iowa City to Kenneth and Dorothy (Kessler) Potter. She graduated from City High School. She married William C. Skriver on June 27, 1959, in Iowa City. She provided daycare out of her Coralville home. In 1977, she went to work as a teacher's associate for the Iowa City Community School District, retiring in 2001, retiring in 2001.

She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for 41 years. She also was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the local chapter, Preceptor Beta Iota.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Sharon L. Schott and her husband, Eric, of Coralville; two sons, Michael J. Skriver and his wife, Jacqueline, of Wayland and Bradley W. Skriver and his wife, Tamara, of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; three sisters, Donna Weable and her husband, Denny, Cheryl Henry and her husband, Kenneth, all of Arizona, and Kathy Bartles of Iowa City.

Her parents died earlier.
