Pauline J. Diggelmann, age 82 formerly of Iowa City died Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at the Colonial Manor Care Center in Amana.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 10, 2003, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Bruce W. Fischer officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Thursday at the funeral home where an Order of Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 7pm. In leiu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Pauline’s memory to Alzeheimer’s Disease Research Fund, c/o University of Iowa Foundation. Pauline Jesse Maynes was born May 7, 1921 in Union City, New Jersey, the daughter of William and Clara (Coller) Maynes. On Decembr 8, 1944 she married Henry H. Diggelmann in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Prior to moving to Iowa City in 1985 the couple lived in Dumont, NJ. Her husband, Henry died September 12, 1992.

Her family includes two sons and their wives, Henry W. and Linda Diggelmann of Iowa City, and Steven J. and Stephanie Diggelmann of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Paula J. Becker and her husband, Doug Dubay of Atlanta; seven grandchildren, Richard, Roger, Kirsten, Karly, Hank, Jennifer, and Lindsey; and son-in-law, Rick Becker of Richmond, VA.
