Mardelle Pedigo, 75, of 1767 Louis Place, Iowa City, Iowa died peacefully at home Friday, October 3, 2003 of cancer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at 10:30AM at Hoover – Hall Memorial Chapel in Monmouth, Illinois. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8PM at the funeral home. A reception will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a memorial fund established in her name. Local arrangements were with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service.

Mardelle was born November 20, 1927 in Obert, Nebraska, the daughter of Ira and Nettie Thompson Cook. She married Jack Pedigo on June 17, 1949 in Monmouth, Illinois. Mardelle had moved to Monmouth when she was nine and lived there until her retirement.

Mardelle served as elementary school secretary at Willits School for twenty-seven years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the First Lutheran Church in Monmouth.

Following retirement they moved to Iowa City and also spent time in Green Valley, Arizona.

She was a proud grandmother of Jaclyn and Natalie Lancial and Nash and Anna Hall. She loved to celebrate birthdays and holidays with those she loved.

Mardelle is survived by her husband, Jack; two daughters, Lynette Lancial and her husband, Bill of Iowa City
and Jill Hall of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin; her brother, Francis Cook and his wife Ann of Roseville, Illinois; four grandchildren and a sister in law, Vera Cook of Bettendorf, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Dean Cook and her sister Adeline.
