Rosita F. “Zee” Roberts, 78, of 701 Grant Street in Iowa City, died unexpectedly at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City on Thursday, August 28, 2003.

Zee chose to be cremated. Her family will greet friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 7, 2003 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the Rosita Roberts Memorial Fund.

Zee was born June 13, 1925 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Novilio & Annunziata (Aurora) Borroni. Zee graduated from high school in Hershey and on August 11, 1956, married Ralph Roberts in Hershey. She initially worked for the Hershey Chocolate Corporation until moving with her husband to St. Louis, where Zee worked in the office of a clothing store. The couple later lived in Carbondale, Illinois and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, until moving to Iowa City in 1968.

Zee volunteered delivering mail at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City for Mercy Guild. Family was very important to her and devoting her time to raising and caring for her daughters was first foremost to her.

She is survived by her husband Ralph of Iowa City, two daughters, Lori Roberts of Iowa City and Beth Gauger & her husband Mark, also of Iowa City and many nieces and nephews.

Zee was preceded in death by her parents and one brother and one sister.
