Walter Horrell, Lone Tree, Dies

LONE TREE – Walter Winfield Horrell, 87, of Lone Tree, died Sunday morning at University hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m .at the Sorden and Adams funeral home the Rev. Clifford Egert, officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery.

Mr Horrell was born January 14, 1877, the son of Joseph and Sarah Wood Horrell of Lone Tree. He married Jessie Fountain.

Survivors include three daughters; Mrs Albert (Ramona) Haight of Davenport; Mrs Hugh (Edna) Boyd of Albuquerque, N.M.; Mrs Lawrence (Verna) Dempsey, of Columbus Junction; and six sons; Dana of Pocatello, Idaho; Preston of Boron, California; Hollis of Iowa City; LeRoy of Morrison, Ill.; Willis of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Arthur of Lone Tree.

Twenty-three grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr Horrell was preceded in death by his wife and three children
