Obituary

Mrs. Katherine (Fattler) Kessler, wife of Frank B. Kessler departed life at her home west of Solon on Saturday, March 14, 1903. She was born in Germany, September 15, 1832 and came to the United States with her parents in 1833. She was married to Frank B. Kessler, August 9th 1847 and to them were born ten children of whom nine survive her with her husband to mourn the loss of a beloved mother and companion. Mrs. Kessler had been sick for some time but was usually a woman of good health. Her death leaves her aged husband to mourn the loss of an affectionate wife and a tender mother of their children, all of whom are men and women doing for themselves. The funeral services were held at St. Mary's church of which Mr. and Mrs. Kessler have been members for many years. Rev. Father Walsh conducted the services in presence of a large congregation of mourning relatives and friends who came to pay the last respects to a beloved pioneer whose life was almost co-extensive with the settlement and development of Johnson county.
