William “BJ” Johnson, 69, of Iowa City, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at his home.

A gathering of friends to celebrate BJ’s life will be held Wednesday, May 18th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.

BJ was born July 22, 1941 in Shelby, North Carolina, the son of Grant and Virginia (Huddleston) Johnson.

BJ is survived by his daughter, Natassja of Iowa City; brother, Troy Johnson of Iowa City, sister, Geraldine Scott of Shelby, North Carolina, many nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Priscilla Traman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Grant and Roy.
