Elizabeth V. Courtney 76 of Iowa City went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6, 2011.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday May 10, 2011 at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross.

Elizabeth was born October 3, 1934 in Riverside, the daughter of William and Anna Liska Lantz. She attended Riverside schools. On April 18, 1958 she married Perry Courtney in Iowa City.

Elizabeth had been employed for many years with the University of Iowa Laundry Service, retiring in 1989. She was a past president of VFW 3949 Ladies Auxiliary. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and mushroom hunting.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Perry and their two daughters, Barbara (John) Boorman of Blackbird, Delaware and Frances (Ron) Calvert of Iowa City; five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
