Agnes Marie Irving 103 died peacefully Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Solon Care Center.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Wenceslaus Church with Rev. Michael Phillips officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9am Tuesday at the Church, where a rosary will be recited at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Wenceslaus Church, Iowa City Hospice or Solon Care Center. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service.

Agnes was born February 14, 1908 in Iowa City, the daughter of Henry and Frances Schintler Solnar. She was a graduate of City High School. On June 25, 1930 she married Robert Irving in Iowa City. Robert died in 1964.

Agnes was a lifelong member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Agnes was a Cubbie fan and liked Bush’s Baked Beans.

The family extends their appreciation to the staff at Solon Care Center for the care they provided to Agnes.

Agnes is survived by four children, Kenneth (Alvina) Irving, Jerry Irving and Delores Grauer, all of Iowa City and Barbara (Kenneth) Greiner of Keota; 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, her son James, daughter-in-law Mary Irving and son-in-law Don Grauer; 3 sisters Mabel Hulka, Gertrude Seemuth and Marian Lockhart.
