Judith A. (Windsor) Condon, 80, of Iowa City died peacefully Friday, February 4, 2011 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her family.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with The Very Reverend Rudolph Juarez officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, February 8 at Lensing Funeral Home, Iowa City, where a Parish Vigil Service will begin at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Judy Condon Memorial Fund.

Judy was born June 26, 1930 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Everett and Mabel (Shepherd) Windsor. She was a graduate of Quincy High School and later attended The University of Iowa. On September 9, 1950, she married Bill Condon at St. Thomas More Church in Iowa City.

Judy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for many years, where she and her husband sang with the church choir. They volunteered at the Johnson County Senior Center and sang with the Voices of Experience. Judy and Bill were involved in numerous musicals with the Iowa City Community Theatre. Judy enjoyed sewing, quilting and was an avid reader.

The most important thing in Judy’s life was her family. She cherished the time she spent with her family and especially enjoyed the wonderful moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Judy is survived by her six daughters: Lynn (Dale) Hill of Hills, Beth (Bruce) Vander Schel, Jane (Craig) Hambright and Patti (Jim) Jensen all of Iowa City, Cathy (Ellis) Shultz of West Branch and Barbara Condon of Knoxville, TN; two sons: Steve (Carol) Condon of Sewell, NJ and Dennis Condon of Iowa City; her sister Janet (Jerry) Aden of Quincy, IL, a brother David (Janette) Windsor of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, a daughter-in-law Diane Condon of Oxford, IA, 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, a son David, a sister Carol, a brother Jimmy, brother-in-law Robert, twin granddaughters Rachel and Rebecca Condon and a great grandson Joey Hambright.
