Jeanne Marie Trinder 76 of Iowa City died peacefully at home Wednesday, December 29th surrounded by family.
Jeanne was born January 2, 1934 in Iowa City, Iowa. She was adopted by Theodore and Jennie Mouw Rowerdink, where she found her forever home. She was a 1956 graduate of Vinton High School, attended the University of Dubuque and received her LPN in Nursing from Mercidian School of Nursing in Marshalltown. Jeanne married Clifford Trinder on January 16, 1955 in Vinton. In 1957 they moved to Iowa City.
Jeanne was a preschool teacher and part time director of The Little School House preschool for 21 years, retiring in 1990.
Jeanne served on the Foster Care Review Board and volunteered with the Peer Counseling Program at the Senior Center. She volunteered with the Rock and Read Program at Mark Twain Elementary and in the library at Helen Lemme Elementary. Her memberships include Agudas Achim and the PALS Program. She was proud to be a founding member of the Jewish Christian Dialogue Group. Jeanne loved to sing, play flute and read.
Jeanne is survived by three loving children, Kathleen Anne Trinder of Des Moines, Susan Dianne Adamson of Iowa City and Steven Alan and Tamara Risen Trinder of West Des Moines; three grandchildren, Jenna Marie Adamson, Braeden Risen Trinder and Reece Christian Trinder; two sisters Patricia Anne (DeWayne) Schendel of Lincoln, CA and Katherine “Darlene” (Bill) Tubbs of Camarilla, CA.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 2005.
