Mrs. Dopler

Mrs. May Kessler Dopler, 71, of 319 East Burlington Street, died Monday at her home of a sudden illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Zion American Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lowell Koch officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the George L. Gay Funeral Home beginning this evening.

Mrs. Dopler was born May 15, 1896 in Newport Township, the daughter of William and Minnie Evans Fuhrmeister. On Feb. 12, 1912 she married Fred Kessler who died in 1959. She and Rollo Dopler were married in Iowa City on Jan. 27, 1962. She lived in Newport Township until moving to Iowa City in 1922.

She was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church, the Women of the Moose and the Degree of Pocahontas.

Surviving are her husband, a son, Donald F., a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Potter; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, William F. Fuhrmeister, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Hebl and Mrs. Robert (Gladys) Bothell. All of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
