Mary was born June 20, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of John L. and Mary Stuart (Fishback) Drew. She graduated from high school in St. Louis, and later received her BA degree from Centre College in Danville, KY. She has been involved in Transcendental Meditation for all of her adult life, teaching many hundreds of people in cities throughout the United States. She founded the first Transcendental Meditation center in St. Louis in the 1970’s. She has owned and operated a number of businesses throughout her life, including Celestial Silks and The Guest House in Fairfield. She also maintained a business site on E-bay. As a professional photographer, she had an exceptional ability to capture the soul of a person in a photograph.

Many knew Mary as unselfish, giving of herself to encourage entrepreneurs and leadership among those she met. She loved sharing her gifts with others. She was a generous host to many international students and a frequent contributor to the Beatbox teen center in Fairfield. One her of greatest joys came from her involvement in the Pet Partner Program. Following a training program with her dog, Mattie, they would then visit the sick, disabled and elderly in their homes, hospitals and care centers, bringing smiles to many.

Her family includes two brothers, John L. Drew III of St. Louis, MO, and Robert H. Drew of London, England; four nieces and nephews, Kirkwood Drew, Mary Randolph Danforth, Sarah Anderson Drew, and John L. Drew IV.

Mary will be remembered for much; her great intuition, inspiring everyone around her, as an extraordinary friend, sister and aunt always willing to listen and share, caring so much for others.
