Robert “Bob” Owen Dideriksen, 53 of 2335 Mulberry Street, Coralville, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at his home after a battle with cancer.

Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Lensing‘s Oak Hill 210 Holiday Rd. Coralville. Funeral services will be 11:00am on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Lensing’s Oak Hill-Coralville. Followed by a celebration of Bob’s life, at the Knights of Columbus Family Center 4779 American Legion Drive. Burial will be in Hawleyville Cemetery on 2:00pm Wednesday. Friends should meet at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda, Iowa at 1:00pm. Wednesday. Memorials made to Iowa City Hospice or University of Iowa Foundation for Brain Cancer Research.

Robert was born November 10, 1949 in Shenandoah, Iowa the son of James and Eleanore (Owen) Dideriksen. He attended Shenandoah High School and graduated in 1967. He earned his BS from Iowa State University in 1971. Bob has worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for thirty-four years as a Soil Scientist. After being a special part of each other lives for eleven years Bob and Tanya Meyer were united in marriage on May 16, 2002. Robert enjoyed life to the fullest and truly enriched the lives of all that were fortunate enough to know him. His passion for Porsche cars was immeasurable, owning and racing numerous Porsches for over thirty years. He held several positions, including presidential terms, with the Central Iowa Region and Schonesland Region Porsche clubs in Iowa. He was a Harley Davidson motorcycle and airplane enthusiast, and loved to travel, especially in the mountains. For his wife Tanya, her son, Colin, and all those that were close to Robert, we know the emptiness left by his earthly absence can never be forgotten.

He is survived by his wife, Tanya Meyer Dideriksen and her son, Colin Mansager of Coralville, Iowa. Robert is also survived by his mother, Eleanore Dideriksen of Shenandoah, Iowa, and by one brother, Michael and his wife Janet of Ft. Collins, Colorado and their children Sarah and Daniel.
Robert was preceded in death by his father.
