Joseph D. “Joe” Buhr Sr., 35, of 1570 S. 1st Avenue in Iowa City, died suddenly on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from a cerebral hemorrhage.

Joe was born December 11, 1974 in Hazelcrest, Illinois, the son of Larry and Opal Sioux (Durham) Buhr. He worked at International Automotive Components (IAC) in Iowa City.
Joe enjoyed spending time outdoors, walks and fishing and was a Chicago Cubs fan.
He was very giving of himself to family and friends.

Survivors include his fiancé, C.C. Sufficool of Iowa City, children, Zach Cremer and
Ashley Wolfe, both of Bradley, Illinois, Noel Buhr of Illinois and Joseph Buhr Jr. of Iowa City; step-daughters, Kelsie Mauricio and Shawna Johnson, both of Iowa City; his father, Larry (Diane) Buhr of Momence, Illinois; his mother, Opal Sioux Boyd (Jim) of Tipton, Iowa; brother, Larry Buhr. Jr. (Noelle) of Iowa City and Amanda Hubert (Ryan) of Campus, Illinois, his former wife Nora LeAnne Buhr of Iowa City and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
