Donald Kessler, 43

Donald R. Kessler, 43, of Las Vegas, Nev., -- formerly of Iowa City -- died Wednesday in the Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, Calif.

Services will begin at a4 p.m. Sunday in the Reformation Lutheran Church in Las Vegas, with burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Las Vegas.

Memorial donations may be made to the Reformation Lutheran Church in Las Vegas or to the American Heart Association.

Mr. Kessler was born Feb. 12, 1945, in Iowa City, son of Donald F. and Regina Gingerich Kessler. He was co-owner and operator of Kessler's Kitchen in Las Vegas and in the past was a realtor with the Americana Group. For the past six years, he was principal stock broker and co-owner of a stock brokerage firm in Las Vegas.

He was president of the church council at the Reformation Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission and NASD.

He is survived by his mother of Iowa City; his father and stepmother of Las Vegas; two daughters, Jerilyn Rhodes of Las Vegas and Bonnie Sneed of Greene; one brother, Craig, of Iowa City; one stepbrother, Tom Guth of Las Vegas; and one stepsister, Sally Lezcano of Las Vegas.
