Kessler rites

Services for Marie Kessler, 70, of 108 S. Linn St., who died Monday at University Hospital after a sudden illness, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Henry Greiner officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Mary's Church Cemetery in Solon. Friends may call at the Donohue-Lensing Mortuary after noon on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

Miss Kessler was born March 5, 1912, in Solon, a daughter of Adolph and Therese Ryan Kessler. For many years she had been employed in the housekeeping department at Mercy Hospital. She had moved to Iowa City from Solon in the 1950's and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Survivors include two sisters, Alice Kessler of Solon, and Mrs. Irene (William) Costolo of Coralville; three brothers, Edward of Iowa City, and William and Morris, both of Solon, and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers and a nephew died earlier.
