Leo Archie Munday
Of Newport Beach, and formerly a resident of Iowa City, Iowa, died November 8, 2002 of Pancreatic Cancer. He was born May 1, 1935 in Leon, Iowa.
Munday was president and owner of both Marway Power Systems and Air Link International in Orange, California. Prior to this, he was found and president of American Testronics in Iowa City until 1985. Early in his career he became vice-president of the American College of Testing Program for Research and Development in Iowa City, Iowa, Iowa Tests of Basic Skills; the Gates MacGinite Reading Test, and others. Following this he was vice-president of Houghton Mifflin Company in Boston, and Riverside Publishing in Chicago. Munday earned both a master’s degree from (University of)Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and a PhD. from the University of Iowa in Education, specializing in Statistics, Measurement and Counseling.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mary Munday, daughter Janae Kahn; son Christopher Munday; sister Phyllis Lacey, step daughters Christy Crochet and Kelle Reed; and grandchildren Cameron, Brittany, Chase and Jack.
Services will beheld at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church at 12:00 noon in the Chapel. The address is 600 St. Andrews Rd., Newport Beach, (949) 631-2880. A reception will follow at the Four Seasons Hotel, 690 Newport Center Dr., Newport Beach.
