Rosemary J. Gerot, 66, of Iowa City passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a sudden illness. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 on Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Rudolph T. Juarez officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The American Diabetes Association. Lensing Funeral Service is handling the arrangements.
Rosemary was born on January 6, 1944 in Muscatine, IA, the daughter of Tony and Eulalia (Duwa) Morgan. She graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1962 and short time later went on to work for First National Bank where she was an Administrative Assistant for over 44 years. On April 10, 1965, Rosemary was married to Richard Gerot in West Liberty.
Rosemary was a wonderful lady who always put her family first. She truly cherished the time spent with each of them. In her free time, Rosemary enjoyed being an active member in the Classy Chassy Cruisers club and also being a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and The Old Settlers Association.
She is survived by her husband Richard of Iowa City, a daughter Diane (Dave) Fountain of Martelle, IA, a son Ron (Valerie) of Iowa City, three sisters: Delores (Gene) Koenighain of Iowa City, Susan (Dennis) Denton of Des Moines and Julie (Dean) Miller of Kalona; two brothers: Jerry (Joan) Morgan and Wayne (Susan) Morgan all of Lone Tree, and her three grandchildren Tyler and Kayla Fountain and Kyrstin Gerot. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents.
