James R. Berkley, 60, of Iowa City died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at VAMC of complications from mesothelioma.

Jim was born November 8, 1949 in Clinton, Iowa. He served in Viet Nam with the US Navy. On December 23, 1992 he married Lodema Pryor in Guthrie Center, Iowa.
Jim was in semi sales with Truck Country in Cedar Rapids, until his retirement in 2007.

Survivors include his wife, Lodema of Iowa City; two children, Jason (Cindy) Berkley of Indianola and Matthew (Angela) Berkley of Osceola; two step-children, Emily (Yancey) Forkner of Iowa City and Kevin (Mindi) Slaybaugh of Waukee; 6 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; his siblings, Don (Peggy) Gordon, Nancy (Jerry) Armstrong, Tom ( Diane) Berkley and Paul Berkley.
