John Edward Frajman, age 83 formerly of Coralville and Iowa City died Friday, March 7, 2003, at a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona where he and his wife, Edith have lived since 1978.

Funeral services were held in Phoenix on Wednesday, March 12th. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2003 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. There will be no visitation prior to the services, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Music Department of the Central Avenue United Methodist Church in Phoenix, AZ. John was born July 26, 1919 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of John and Margaret (Wilgocki) Frajman. After graduating from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, he enlisted with the United States Navy. He reenlisted when World War II broke out. He continued his military service following the war with over thirty-four years in the Naval Reserve. On August 11, 1945, John married Edith Crandall in Brooklyn, NY. The couple moved to Cedar Rapids that year where they lived on 30th. Street NE. In 1951, he accepted a position in the Engineer Department of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City. They lived in the Iowa City and Coralville area until moving to Phoenix in1978. John and Edith enjoyed traveling both within the United States and to many foreign countries abroad.

His family includes his wife of over fifty-seven years, Edith of Phoenix; son, William Frajman of Donovan, Iowa, daughter, Linda Hamson of Boise, Idaho; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Richard Frajman of Cedar Rapids.
