Beth W. Elzey, 48, of 2121 Brown Deer Road died Monday, January 5, 2004 of cancer at her home surrounded by family.

Beth was born December 11, 1955 in Cambridge, Maryland, the daughter of William and Doris Robbins Waldis. She married Glenn Elzey on July 24, 1976 at Immanuael United Church of Christ in Cambridge, Maryland. Glenn and Beth just celebrated 27 years of marriage.

She was a 1973 graduate of Cambridge High School. In 1976 she received her Nursing Diploma from Peninsula General Hospital School of Nursing in Salisbury, Maryland and passed her RN certification. She then completed her BS degree in nursing at Salisbury State College graduating in December 1981. Beth and Glenn moved to Coralville in 2003 from Clovis, California where she was a surgical nurse. Previously she had been an operating room nurse in Longmont, Colorado, Harrisonburg, Virginia and Salisbury, Maryland.

She was a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses and the Immanuel United Church of Christ.

Beth was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed watching the Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants and the Chicago Cubs. She and Glenn loved to travel and often coordinated their travels to coincide with their favorite teams game schedule. Every year they celebrated their wedding anniversary by hosting a annual party for friends, family and the tree.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Denise Nelson of Iowa City Hospice and the doctors and nurses at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for their caring spirit and support.

Her in-laws, Mary K. and Phil Elzey; a sister-in-law, Kay Rhea and her husband, Greg
and one niece, Katie Rhea, all of Cambridge, Maryland
A Brother-in-law, Larry Elzey and Dorothy Pritchett of Salisbury, Maryland
Her aunts; Gertrude Lord, Louise Massey, Margaret Wheatley and Reba Salmons and her husband, Jack, all of Federalsburg, Maryland
Ruth Dodd of Seaford, Delaware and Elizabeth Orn of Hayward, California.
Elsie Callison and Pauline Robbins of Cambridge, Maryland.
