Steve B. Gustoff, 50 of Riverside died Friday, March 19, 2004 at Mercy hospital after a sudden illness.

Steve was born August 25, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Robert and Joyce (Myers) Gustoff. Steve graduated from Solon High School. He served in the United States Army from 1973 until 1976. On July 20, 1980 he married Penny K. Rudish in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Steve has worked as a mechanic for many years. For the last fifteen years he has worked as a cab driver for Old Capitol Cab Co. He loved building hot rods and working on cars. His greatest love was cheering his children on at all of their sporting events. He enjoyed summer vacations at Bill & Wilma Gustoff’s farm and spending time with his other grandparents, Gar and hazel.

He is survived by his wife, Penny of Riverside, Iowa; his parents, Robert and Joyce Gustoff of Solon, Iowa; by his children, Steve Gustoff Jr, of North Liberty, Iowa, Larry, Shavell and Wendy Gustoff all of Riverside; two brothers, Rob Gustoff and his wife Pam and their children, Melissa, Mindy and Jeff all of Riverside and David Gustoff and his wife Linda and their children, Amanda, Andrea and Rachel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, by one grandson, Skyler. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces and nephews, one special aunt, Faun Cassidy of Lexington, Kentucky.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Garland and Hazel Myers and William and Wilma Gustoff and his mother-in-law, Zona Rudish.
