Hazel C. Randall, 83, of Montrose, Iowa died Sunday, August 1, 2004 at the Solon Care Center in Solon, Iowa.

Graveside Services will be held at 2PM, Thursday, August 5, 2004 at Oakland Cemetery in Ft. Madison, Iowa with Rev. Charity Rowley officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7PM at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice, 1025 Wade Street, Iowa City, Iowa 52240.

Mrs. Randall was born October 19, 1920 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Allison Day and Bertha Christine Steneker Billman. She married Charles Aubrey Randall on June 26, 1941 in Fort Madison.

For many years Hazel was a case worker with the Lee County Department of Social Services, retiring in 1982. In her younger years, she had been employed at Sheaffer Pen Co. and had received her beautician’s license in 1949. She and her husband had owned and operated the Swirly Top Ice Cream Stand in Keokuk for many years.

In Keokuk, she was a member of King’s Daughters and Ladies of the Elks. Prior to moving to Solon she had resided at the Kensington in Fort Madison.

Hazel loved living near the Mississippi River. She enjoyed boating, fishing,
golfing, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son: Bruce Randall and his wife Christina of Iowa City;
two granddaughters, Tracy Randall Titus and her husband Tony Titus and their children Hannah and Samantha and Karen Pava Randall and her husband Joe Pava of Northampton, Massachusetts; one grandson, Brian Aaron Randall and his wife Radana who are currently residing in Tblisi, Republic of Georgia and their son Christopher Anthony.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother Harold Billman,
four sisters, Sareta Stevens, Alice Barnes, Mae Linch and Mabel Hohl
