Linda RaNaye Schultz, 58, of Coralville died peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family.

Burial will be at a later date in New Ulm, Minnesota. Linda RaNaye Savoy, the daughter of Felton and Pearl (Westphal) Savoy was born on October 17, 1948 in St. Peter, Minnesota. At an early age Linda moved with her family to Nicollet, Minnesota where she attended the Nicollet Public Schools graduating in the class of 1966. After her high school graduation Linda's goal was to become a nurse. She enrolled in the New Ulm School of Practical Nursing affiliated with the Union Hospital in New Ulm, MN. She graduated as an LPN in 1968 and obtained a job as an LPN at Immanuel Hospital in Mankato, MN. While there she met Rodney Schultz. That relationship developed and they were united in marriage on September 5, 1970 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter, MN. After marriage Linda and Rod continued to work at the hospital in Mankato until 1973 at which time they moved to Iowa City. Linda furthered her education at the University of Iowa receiving her BSN degree in 1987 from the University of Iowa College of Nursing, she graduated with honors. Since 1987, and just up to a few weeks ago, Linda worked as a registered nurse in the operating room at the UIHC, specializing in orthopedic surgery.
Linda was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City. She was a great mother, grandmother, and cherished her family and friends. For the past 12 years she was a wonderful and faithful caregiver to her husband, Rod.
Linda is survived by her husband, Rodney, a resident of the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown, a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Peter and Amanda Schultz of Cleveland, Ohio; a son Thomas Alan Schultz of Iowa City; a grandson, Brady Schultz; her mother, Pearl Savoy of New Ulm, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Linda Savoy of New Ulm, MN, Ralph and Yvonne Savoy of Cedar Rapids; and by nieces and nephews, Chad, Amber, Caitie, Brittney, Andrew, Jennifer, and Reis. She was preceded in death by her father, Felton Savoy, and her in-laws, Peter and Beatrice Schultz.
Linda’s family would like to extend a special thank to all of the nurses from the University of Iowa Hospital, they have loved and supported Linda and her family through this nine year battle with breast cancer. The family is truly grateful.
