Anita H. Nicknish, 100, formerly of Utica, New York, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2007 at Solon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Elmira, New York on June 3, 1907. After several moves throughout New York State as a child, she settled in Utica, New York where she met her husband Le Roy, married and raised four children. In 1997, she moved to Iowa City to be near her son Thomas.
Survivors include sons John Nicknish and his wife Florence of Houston, Texas, Dr. Thomas Nicknish and his wife Barbara of Iowa City, a daughter, Christine Nicknish and her husband Robert Winn of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; nineteen grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975, a son Stephen in 2001 and a grandson John Stephen in 1986.
