Ralph Joseph Bopp, 96, formerly of 734 Highland Avenue, Iowa City, died Saturday, July 28th, 2007 at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids following a short illness.

Ralph was born February 3rd, 1911 in Richmond, Iowa the son of John and Margaret (Lytle) Bopp. He was united in marriage on January 1st, 1935 in Hills to Celesta Jenn. Celesta died September 21st, 1999.

Ralph was a lifelong resident of the Iowa City area. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed fixing small engines, spending time with his family and was affectionately known to his great-grandchildren as “Big Papa”.

Ralph is survived by his son LeRoy (JoAnn) Bopp of Cedar Rapids, three sisters Helen Rotenburger of Minnesota, Rosella Attig of Lone Tree, IA and Geraldine Idle of Washington, IA, three granddaughters Teresa (Steve) Garlick of Glendale, AZ, Amy (Robin) Gaynor of Mishawaka, IN and Kristina (Brian) Hartman of Akeny, IA and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two brothers Omer and Walter.
