Paul William Rogers, 69, of North Liberty died peacefully Sunday, August 5, 2007
surrounded by his family at home.

Paul was born February 15, 1938 in Iowa City, the son of Plas and Nell Griffin Rogers.
Paul attended St. Patrick’s School, where he graduated in 1956.

On October 8, 1960 he married Rose Frantz at St. Patrick’s Church. Paul married into
a fun loving family who gathered often to play games, cards, argue, hug and then talked way into the night. Paul’s chair remains empty.

Paul was employed at Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution for over 47 years. The word
“retirement” was not in Paul’s vocabulary. Paul enjoyed his job and his co-workers. He considered the Braverman family to be, not only his employer, but a second family.

Each season brought a new sport for Paul to enjoy, the Packers, the Cubs and of course Hawkeye sporting events were his favorites. Paul closely followed family sporting events from grade school through college, and could often be seen moving the football chains at Regina home football games. Paul loved to travel with family and friends. He had been to every state, including Alaska and Hawaii several times, and enjoyed the time spent in the Caribbean and Mexico. One of his favorite pastimes was puttering around the house and yard.

Paul was a man of strong faith and a devoted family man. The light of his life was Rose, his sons Mark and Scott, his daughter-in law Paula and his precious grandchildren Brandi and Trae.

Paul had served in the National Guard.

Paul was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Iowa City Hospice for
the care and support during Paul’s illness.

Paul is survived by his wife Rose and their two sons, Mark (Paula) and their children
Brandi and Trae of Coralville and Scott of Oak Park, Illinois; one sister, Phyllis (John)
Neubauer of Fort Smith, AR; his in-laws, Richard Frantz, Doris (Bill) Durand, Linda Klein, Harry (Marlene) Frantz, Wayne (Patty) Frantz, Don (Jane) Frantz; and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Earl and Karen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Church Building Fund or to Regina c/o Catholic Community Foundation.
