Kenneth James Bushman, 80, of Iowa City died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Mercy Hospital following a brief illness.

Ken was born February 26, 1928 in Iowa City, the son of Edward and Margaret Carney Bushman. Ken married Juanita Yeggy on February 3, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church.

From 1951 to 1953 Ken served in the US Army during the Korean War, where he attained the rank of Corporal.

Ken was employed for ten years at Economy Advertising where he ran a printing press, and for fifteen years he had been a printing supervisor for Vigortone Ag Products.
Ken had a strong work ethic and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.

Ken was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Knights of Columbus Marquette Council 842 and American Legion Post#17. Ken had been involved with Boy Scout Troop 218 for many years.

Ken is survived by his wife Juanita and their children David Bushman of Saratoga, CA and Jill Bushman (Damian Hamilton) of Iowa City; five grandchildren, Nathaniel and Nikki Bushman, Mercedes and Madeline Hamilton, and Jacob Hawkins and his sister, Mary Rita Degenfelder of Coppell, TX.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Kim and two brothers, John and Donald.
