Leonard N. Norcia, 92, formerly of Coralville, died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Solon Care Center following a brief illness.
Leonard was born January 1, 1916 in Mt. Iron, MN, the son of Frank and Raffaella Gliatta Norcia. Leonard received both his bachelors degree and PhD from the University of Minnesota. On June 2, 1950 he married Violet Rohrer.
Leonard was a professor of biochemistry at the Temple University School of Medicine.
He retired in 1982. In 1989 Leonard and his wife moved to Coralville to be near their daughter and son-in-law.Leonard was a 65 year member of the American Chemical Society. He enjoyed golfing.

Leonard is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Hope and James Barton of Iowa City
and his sister, Mary Gagnon of Mt. Iron, MN.He was preceded in death by his wife and four siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Solon Care Center.
