Lori Ann Maurer, 41, of Iowa City, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Lori was born November 23, 1966 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Ted Miller and Doris Ihm. Lori was a 1985 graduate of West Branch High School.

Lori had been employed at American Van Lines and prior to that was with Economy Advertising Co. and Goodfellow Printing.

Lori was a free spirit who enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She was a caring person who always put her children first.

Survivors include: three daughters, Racheal and Jessica Maurer and Nikita Westfall, all of Iowa City; her parents, Ted Miller of West Branch and Doris Ihm of Iowa City; six siblings, Brenda Miller (Joe O’Brien) of Solon, Dan Miller (Paige Brown) and Ted (Sherry) Miller both of West Branch, Joe Miller (Krystal Dickinson) and Tom Miller, both of Burlington and Jeff (Traci) Miller of Iowa City; her former spouse, Tim Maurer of West Liberty; her longtime friend Rod Westfall of Riverside; her former in-laws Donna and Craig Maurer of West Liberty and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, an educational memorial fund has been established for Racheal, Jessica and Nikita at Hills Bank and Trust.
