Death Of Mrs. Moscow
Mrs. Elsie Susan Moscow, 72, passed away suddenly at her home in Iowa City Sunday morning, Feb. 28. Her health has been failing for several years.

Born in Oxford Township, March 10, 1881, the daughter of Charles and Anna Gegenheimer she spent her early life in Iowa township until her marriage in 1904 to John Roberts of Rolfe where the couple established their home.

In July, 1919 she was married to Charles W. Moscow and they made their home west of Oxford until moving to Iowa City in 1936.

Survivors include her former husband, Charles Moscow, four daughters, Mrs. Farrell Ambrose and Mrs. Leo Zahner, of Iowa City; Mrs. Warren Dailey and Mrs. Joe Tonderum, San Diego, Calif; and one son, Leigh Roberts also of San Diego, Calif., and 11 grandchildren.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Laurence Sass of near Oakdale and a brother Herbert Gegenheimer of Iowa township. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Moscow, killed in 1945 while serving overseas during World War II, two brothers George and Wes Gegenheimer and a sister, Mrs. Charles (Arta) Austin.

Mrs. Moscow was a member of the Iowa City Rebekah lodge, Veteran of Foreign Wars auxiliary, Woman's Relief Corps, Gold Star Mothers and Church of Christ.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Oathout funeral chapel in Iowa City, the Rev. Edwin De Vries, pastor of the Church of Christ officiating.

Burial in Memory Gardens, Iowa City.
