Melissa Diane Neal, 42, of Iowa City, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 30, 2008 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Melissa was born June 4, 1966 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Dale Frantz and Lora Frantz-Lynn (Alberhasky). She was joined in marriage to Steve Neal on April 29, 1998 in Iowa City. Melissa enjoyed spending time crocheting and crafting, listening to 80’s music, being involved in a bible study group and socializing with friends and family. She will be especially missed by her bunnies, Snowball, Bun Buns and Snowflake.

Survivors include her husband, her mother, Lora and her husband Matt Lynn of Iowa City, her beloved twin brother Matthew Frantz of Iowa City, her older brothers, Mike Frantz and Doug Frantz both of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Tom Frantz of San Diego, California and Larry Frantz of Lake City, Florida. Her sisters, Deb Griffis, Barb Ferland, Lesa Frantz and Wendy Frantz all of Iowa City. She is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews and 17 great-nieces and nephews.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
