Margie B. Lee, 79, of Iowa City died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Mercy Hospital
following a brief illness.

Margie was born July 15, 1929 in Winthrop, Minnesota, the daughter of Erna Lickfelt. She was a 1947 graduate of Iowa City City High School. On September 11, 1948 she married Robert J. Lee in Iowa City.

Margie was employed by the Delta Chi Fraternity International Headquarters since 1964, serving as office manager for 30 years. She was a devoted mother not only to her children, but to the young men of Delta Chi she was known as the “Delta Chi Mom”. During lunch at the Delta Chi Headquarters you would often seen Margie playing cards with office staff and the Delta Chi field representatives. She will be greatly missed.

Margie was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Women of the Moose.

Margie is survived by four children: Steve (Sandy) Lee of Solon and their children Scott Lee and Jennifer Lee; Barb (Jim) Burkhart, Sandy Pelkey and her children Addie Martinez and Jess Pelkey, and Robert Lee Jr., all of Iowa City; 6 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kelsey, Kayla, Erich, Laudia and Kyden; three sister-in-laws, Pat Lee, Jan Lee and Marian Lee; numerous nieces and nephews.

Margie was preceded by her mother and husband.
