KALONA--Jesse R. Shetler, 75, of Kalona died Thursday at his home following a lengthy illness.

Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church in Kalona with Walter L. Beachy and Henry D. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the East Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona until 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Shetler was born Nov. 14, 1895, in Johnson County, son of John J. and Eliza Shetler. He married Anna Hershberger Oct. 7, 1923, at Kalona. He farmed in the area until his retirement in 1967. He was a member of the Upper Deer Creek Mennonite Church.

He is survived by his widow; six sons, Paul, Harley and Dennis, all of Kalona, John and Albert of Goshen, Ind., and Phillip of Erwin, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Edwin D. Miller of Amana, and Mrs. Raymond Yutzy and Mrs. Vernon Miller of Hutchinson, Kan.; a brother, John of Wellman; two sisters, Mrs. A.J. Beachy and Mrs. Emery B. Miller, both of Kalona, and 40 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
