SON DIES FAR FROM MICHIGAN HOME
Elmer Johnson of the Mechanical detachment contingent of the S.A.T.C. died last night of pneumonia. He was twenty two and a regularly inducted member of the army. The funeral will therefore be military in nature.

His mother reached the city this morning after a journey of three days and three nights, hampered at every turn by the terrible forest fires which have ravaged the northern country. She comes from Bruno, Michigan, and the sympathy of the community goes out to her who had to face this great grief already worn to the point of exhaustion by her journey.
