Bertha Crawford, 94

Bertha "Bert" Crawford, 94, formerly of 430 Park Rd., died peacefully Saturday April 25, 2009 at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Iowa City Hospice. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.

Bert was born June 22, 1914 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Perry and Lorena Wilson Williams. She married William Crawford March 9, 1934 in Peoria, Illinois where they resided until 1944 when they moved to Iowa City.

Bert was a homemaker and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She had been active in the Lady Elks 590, University of Iowa Women's Society Club, TOPS 1816, AARP and was active with the Iowa City Senior Center.

Bert was also a member of many bridge clubs.

She is survived her daughter Patti Mott and her husband John of Iowa City, IA; her son William "Bill" Crawford and his wife Carol of Cedar Rapids, IA; six grandchildren: Vicki Lensing and her husband Rich Templeton of Iowa City, IA; Lisa Mott of Villa Grove, Colorado; Brett Mott and his wife Ani of Iowa City, IA; Ann Klees and her husband Marty of Cedar Rapids, IA; Aurora Mott of Chicago, IL and Tara Helmsley and her husband John of Iowa City, IA; six great grandchildren: Amanda Lensing of New York City, NY; Alex Lensing of Iowa City, IA; Nick Lensing of Chicago, IL; Adam, Andrew and Grace Klees of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Bert was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one sister and one brother.
