Services:Gary chose to be cremated. A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 10:30 am at Lensing’s Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road in Coralville, Iowa.
Visitation:The family will greet friends that day from 9:30 am until service time. Burial will be in the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Gary D. Morgan Memorial Fund.
Gary D. Morgan, 67, of 347 W. 32nd Street in Davenport and formally of Oxford, died Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Iowa Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown following a long illness.

Gary was born July 8, 1941 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Virgil “Jack” and Dora “Dode” (Dewey) Morgan. Raised in Oxford, Iowa, Gary graduated from Oxford High School in 1959. He served in the United States Naval Reserve from 1959 to 1965. He worked as a Right-of Way Agent for various utility companies purchasing real estate easements. He enjoyed working out, traveling and was a college sports spectator. Gary also worked for Hometown Dairies in Iowa City, as well as auto dealer in Coralville. He married Virginia “Ginger” Dunn July 5, 1991 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife Ginger of Davenport; children, Shelley Laird (David) of Suwanee, Georgia, Brett Morgan (Cindy), of Cumming, Georgia and Michelle Vaughn (Mark) of Taylorsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Kyle Laird (Ashley), Austin, Westen, Stephanie and Jessica and a great granddaughter, Kylie; his mother, Dora “Dode” Morgan of Coralville, Iowa; sisters, Marcy Villhauer (Lou) of Iowa City, Jackie Mossman (Mike) and Debby Houlton (Dan), all of Mesa, Arizona and Sherry Morgan (David Huston) of Iowa City, former wife, Joann Morgan of Cumming, Georgia and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his father.
