Services:Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:00 am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City with Reverend Michael Phillips officiating.
Visitation:Visitation will be held Wednesday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. A parish vigil and rosary will begin at 3:00 pm.
Ruth Anne Bowman, 85, formerly of Tiffin, died Monday, December 15, 2008 at Pioneer Park Care Center in Lone Tree following a lengthy illness.

Ruth Anne was born August 25, 1923 in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Beatrice (Gavin) McLaughlin. Growing up in Cedar Rapids, Ruth Anne graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in Cedar Rapids. She married Lawrence Bowman on January 24, 1944 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford. The couple moved that same year to the Tiffin area where Ruth Anne helped work the family farm and raised her family.

She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City, St. Wenceslaus Altar & Rosary Society, Catholic Order of Foresters, The Farm Bureau and Iowa City Women’s Bowling League.

Survivors include her children, Judy Stebral (Bill) of Lone Tree, Joseph Bowman of Santee, California, Jeri Gosselin (Gerry) of Batavia, Illinois, Jeffrey Bowman of Fayetteville, Georgia and Jennifer Zwack (Steve) of Iowa City;
17 grandchildren, W. Gregory, Kevin (Jenny), Timothy (Rebecca), Joseph (Lynn), Kathryn (Michael), Benjamin, Edward, Nora, Ashley, Lindsey, Jordan, Wesley, Luke, Meredith, John, Aaron and Grace; 9 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Karlee, Hannah, Mallory, Eleanor, Lucy, Frederick, Clara and Amelia and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Dorothy Hansen and Helen Rahe, brothers Robert McLaughlin and Russell McLaughlin and two great-grandchildren, Greta and Oscar.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa City Catholic Community Foundation or St. Wenceslaus Church.
