Services:Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, March 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton, IA. A luncheon will follow the service. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muscatine on Saturday, March 21 at 3pm. Memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice of Johnston and the American Heart Association.
Visitation:Visitation will be held from 8:30 - 10 am at the church.
Katherine M. Lee, 85, of Newton, Iowa, lost her battle with heart disease Tuesday, February 17, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. Kathy was born on November 23, 1923, to Charles and Frances Ziska. She graduated from St. Cloud, MN, high school in 1940. While working in Minneapolis, she met and married Robert E. Lee, on December 27, 1945. Their married life led them to several places in Iowa, including Leon, Centerville, Coralville, Marshalltown, and Newton. Many friendships were formed from these places and from their travels. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Newton, Beta Sigma Phi and T.T.T. sororities, Lady Elks, VFW Auxiliary and the Thursday bridge group. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, quilting, playing bridge, reading, and summer vacations with her daughters.

She is survived by her four daughters Carol Duncan (Jim) of Urbandale, Mary Lee (Bill Biggs) of Golden Valley, Arizona, Barbara Lee of North Liberty, and Laura Wilty of Des Moines; one brother, Francis Ziska of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren, Christian (Shannon) Duncan of Des Moines, Amanda (Adam) Clark of Des Moines, Kati Lee of Golden Valley, Arizona, Brandon Walker (Danielle) of Des Moines. and Blake Wilty of Colfax; seven great grandchildren, Austin, Kyle, Morgan, Noah, Amina, Sydney and Randy; many nieces and nephews and all her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents and six siblings. Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Newton, IA, at a date in March to be determined. Memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice of Johnston and the American Heart Association.
