Earl C. Mechtensimer Jr., age 53 of 2254 Riverside Drive, Iowa City died Friday, January 24, 2003 at mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a sudden illness.

Mr. Mechtensimer was born June 19, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Earl C. and Mary (Swisher) Mechtensimer. Earl moved to this area nearly thirty-five years ago. He has been in Market Research for Merrill Research Company for a number of years.
His family includes his mother, Mary Nance of Coralville; father, Earl C. Mechtensimer Sr. of Ormond Beach, FL; sons, Adrian and Aaron Mechtensimer both of Iowa City; daughter, Sara Mechtensimer of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Gary Mechtensimer of North Liberty; sisters, Sue Gonzales of Orlando, FL, and Lisa Gingerich of Ainsworth.
