Marie Hrit , 93, of 2030 Dubuque Rd, Iowa City, died Friday October 10, 2008 at her home.

Marie was born on in Detroit, MI to Vasilie and Anna (Bura) Hricz. She married Walter “Shorty” Paulina on May 17, 1941 in Detroit. They moved to Iowa City in 1997. Shorty died on December 18, 2006.

Marie is survived by her two children: Carl Paulina (Patricia Turpen) of Ann Arbor, MI, Susan Johnson (Brad) of New Richmond, WI, a son-in-law Kevin Crawley of Iowa City, four siblings and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a daughter Diana Paulina.
