Mildred V. Bosserman, 85 of 304 N. 7th. Avenue, Iowa City died Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at Windmill Manor in Coralville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City, (Sunday parking ordinance will be in effect for streets near the church). Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Sunday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Mildred's memory to First United Methodist Church of Iowa City, or Iowa City Hospice. Mildred Viletta Rogers was born November 21, 1922, in Hadley, PA, the daughter of David and Hulda (Lynn) Rogers. Following graduation from high school, she attended Thiel College in Greenville, PA. Mildred was united in marriage to Bayard E. Bosserman on April 2, 1949, in Akron, OH. The couple and their family resided in a number of cities before moving from Augusta, Maine to Iowa City in 1959. Her focus was her family, the First United Methodist Church, enjoying a couple of bridge clubs including the Mercy Bridge Group, and cheering on the Chicago Bears! Mildred was also active in the Republican Party and helped in numerous campaigns.

Her family includes her husband, Bayard; children, Bayard Bosserman II and his wife, Rouhie of Mission Viejo, CA; David Bosserman and his fiancée, Julie Seehausen of Phoenix, AZ; Thomas Bosserman of San Leandro, CA; Ann Collette and her husband, Pete of Solon, IA; and Tim Bosserman of Montrose, CA; one grandson, Alex Bosserman; brother, Lynn Rogers of Corry, PA, and her sister, Mary Ashe of Orlando, FL.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Clyde and Charles Rogers, sister, Ada Feldhausen; and two daughters-in-law, Sharon and Angela Bosserman.
