Mrs. Mary E. Goody, 88, died at 8 PM Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.J. Droll, 513 South Johnson Street, after a short illness.
A practical nurse for many years, Mrs. Goody had made her home with her daughter for 25 years since the death of her husband in 1927.
A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Starry, she was born March 25, 1864. She was married to William Goody in 1888 at Williamsburg.
The couple came to Iowa City 50 years ago and Mrs. Goody had lived here since.
She is survived by three sons, Robert J. Goody and Ralph F. Goody, both of Iowa City, and Louis E. Goody, Artesia, NM. and two daughters, Mrs. Droll and Mrs. R.E. Crossett, also of Iowa City.
Other survivors are a sister, Elizabeth Starry, Cedar Rapids, two brothers Joe Starry, Cromwell; Mike Starry, Marengo; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 9 AM Monday in St. Patrick's church. Burial will be in Oakland Cem.
The rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM Sunday in Hohenschuh mortuary.
