William Goody dies Suddenly. Well know Resident of City Called Saturday, Funeral Tuesday.
Mr. William Goody, well known Iowa City resident, living at 622 Iowa Ave., died at his home suddenly Saturday evening, April 23rd at 11 o'clock. Mr. Goody had been up and around all day and his death came as a distinct shock, although he had been in poor health for some time.
Mr. Goody, who was born in Iowa City and spent his entire life here, would have been 59 years of age had he lived until May 1st, being born on that date in 1868. He was married to Miss Mary Starry of Williamsburg on November 24, 1897, and is survived by his wife and five children. They are: Robert J. Goody and Ralph H. Goody of Iowa City; Miss Mabel Goody, living at home; Mrs. R.C. Crossett, Iowa City, and Louis E. Goody of Pittsburg, PA. His aged mother, Mrs. Robert Goody, also survives him, as do two brothers, Harry and Glenn Goody, all residents of this city. A sister, Mrs. Leonard Bowen, of Muscatine, Iowa survives.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Hohenschuh mortuary on Tuesday afternoon, April 26th, at 2 o'clock, the Very Rev. W.P. Shannahan officiating. Interment will be made at Oakland cemetery.
Out of town relatives expected at the services are Miss Elizabeth Starry, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs Joseph Sychra, Creston, IA,; and Mr. and Mrs. M. Starry and daughter, Edna, Cedar Rapids.
