Iowa City Press Citizen, May 5, 1992:
Robert H. 'Red' Goody, 74 of 720 E. Bloomington St., died Monday at his home.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Donohue-Lensing funeral home, with burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Dick Watkins will officiate.
There will be no visitation. Memorial donations will go to Iowa City Hospice, Inc.
Mr. Goody was born June 17, 1917 in Iowa City, a son of Robert J. and Loretta Mitchell Goody. He married Dorothy Jean LeVora Aug. 25, 1949, in Davenport. He worked for Rock Island Railroad for about 25 years until his retirement. He served in the US Air Force during World War II. He was a lifelong Iowa City resident.
Survivors include his wife of Iowa City; 2 daughters, Margaret Christy of West Liberty and Karen White of Brighton, Colo.; one step-son, Tom McNabb of Iowa City; one half-sister, Donna Hinke of Escondido, Calif; 11 grandchildren' and 13 great grandchildren.
His parents died earlier.
