Mrs. Rachel L. Ross is dead after an illness of about two weeks. She was seventy-six years of age and spent all but eighteen years in this country [sic]. She was born in Indiana, Oct. 9, 1834, and was married to Daniel Ross, June 8, 1854. To them were born twelve children, five of whom died in infancy. Those remaining are C. W., Elmer, and Mrs. J. T. Parrott of Iowa City; Mrs. J. J. Metzinger of Fremont, Neb., Ernest of Kansas City, and Mary and Nancy of this city. Her husband who died Nov. 1, 1889, was a member of the 22nd Iowa Infantry, Co. I.

The funeral services will be held at the home at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and will be in charge of Rev. Hurlburt. Interment will be in Oakland cemetery.
