Death Claims Mrs. O. Crain

Funeral Services Will Be Tomorrow Afternoon at Lone Tree

West Liberty – Mrs. O. L. Crain, 72, died at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City Saturday night after a three-week illness.

The former Clara Nass, she was born of pioneer parentage in Liberty Township, Johnson County on March 3, 1868, and lived most of her life in and near Lone Tree. She and Louisa Smith Nass, who came to Iowa from Germany after first arriving in Illinois.

She married to Orloff Lee Crain, now of West Liberty, in 1893, who survives.

Also surviving are a son Clifford O. Crain, of southern California: one daughter, Mrs. E.A. Baldwin, of Iowa City; four step-children, Charles B. Crain and Fred B. Crain, both of Iowa City, Mrs. Paul R. Burroughs, of Santa Monica, Calif. And Blanche M. Crain, of Seattle, Wash, four grandchildren, two brothers, Edward G. Nass, of West Liberty, and Louis Barnes, of Estherville, and one sister, Mrs. Ida M. Hill, of St. Paul, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist church at Lone Tree at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. Friends may call at the McGovern Funeral home until 11:30 o’clock tomorrow morning.
