DIED TODAY

VETERAN OF CIVIL WAR DIED THIS MORNING AT HOME OF HIS SISTER

Edwin L. Crain, and aged resident of the county, and a civil war veteran, passed away this morning at about 9 o’clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. P. F. Sharpless, 412 N. Clinton Street. He had been sick for the past two weeks.

The deceased had formerly lived at Lone Tree and of late years has made his home at Cushing. He was a member of the 22nd Iowa Volunteers and saw active service in the civil war. He was seventy-four years of age. He is survived by his wife and children.

The funeral services will be held in Iowa City and the body will be taken to Lone Tree for burial. The time for the services will not be set until the children in Oklahoma have been heard from.

The funeral of the late Edwin L. Crain will take place tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock, from the residence of Mrs. Samuel Sharpless, his sister. The internment will be in Lone Tree.
