Sharlene Diane Mason, 72, of 51 S. High Circle Dr. NE, died Monday at her home of cancer.

Funeral Services will be Friday, September 21, 2007 at 10:30am at Lensing Funeral and
Cremation Service, Iowa City, with the Rev. Paul Akin officiating. A reception will follow the service. Family Committal Services will be Friday at Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may directed to Mercy Hospital Foundation, Hospice of Iowa or the Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.

Sharlene was born April 23, 1935 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of R. Darrell and Ruby Mae Domer Sawyer. Sharlene was raised in Cedar Rapids, where she graduated from Franklin High School and attended the University of Miami. On December 30, 1956 she married Richard (Podhajsky) Mason in Cedar Rapids. In 1962 they moved to Iowa City.

Sharlene was a legal secretary and had been employed at ACT and Meardon, Sueppel and Downer Law Firm.

Sharlene is survived by her husband Richard and their two daughters, Julie (Tom)
Cannon of Iowa City and Laura (Keith) Kettler of West Branch; nine grandchildren,
Clint Cannon and his fiancée Jill
McLain, Katie, Krisie and Kelly Cannon, Justin Becker,
Marissa and Allison Hamm, and Kollin and Kaylee Kettler.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
